Today, our exhibition at the annual Tulip Time Festival in Holland, Michigan was honoured with a visit of the Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to the United States, André Haspels in the company of Turkey’s Chicago Consul General, Engin Türesin; and former United States Ambassador to the Netherlands, Pete Hoekstra
As our distinguished guests admired the photographs and present-day reinterpretations of Zeeland’s regional costume, I had the opportunity to explain the themes and vision behind our projects, like social and ecological care, and a celebration of diversity. It led to lively discussions that were continued over lunch, where the Ambassador received a copy of the book Zeeuws Meisje #Fraternity, as a remembrance of a lovely afternoon in Holland.
